Significant Change Coming

Posted 2019/10/24 8:54 AM by Game Admin

I'm 80% through a massive change to the game and will be ready to playtest in the sandbox soon.

The change is as follows:

1. Toughness will be called "Cardio" after the upgrade.
2. APs will no longer be automatically be changed after a fight.
3. Bonus Points will be referred to as "Training Points" after the upgrade.
4. All APs earned from winning fights will be converted to training points (300 per AP) and added to your fighter stats after each fight along with bonus points (training points) you would have earned from the fight
5. At any time, but only if you have a fight scheduled, you will be able to convert training points to ability points, subject to the usual aging constraints. You can convert some or all of your unused training points.
6. You can "save up" training points to make scouting more difficult. You run the risk of not having enough APs to win a fight.
7. You will have the option of having training points automatically converted to ability points before a scheduled fight, via a setting in your fighter management. The default setting, however, will be manual training.
8. All APs lost from losing fights will be converted to injury points (300 per AP) and added to your fighter stats after each fight.
9. After the fights the system will run through all the fighters and automatically convert injury points to negative APs. APs converting from fight losses and injury WILL ALWAYS BE DEDUCTED FROM CARDIO. In order to manage your fighter successfully you will have to always keep an eye on his cardio and factor it into a career strategy involving aging and injury points.
10. All changes to a fighter's abilities, injury points and training points will be logged in detail and these logs will be visible by the fighter's manager.

The point of this upgrade is to add realism to the game, give managers more control over their fighter and enhance the career management aspect vs just banging out monster fight plans.

Also, yes, I mentioned a sandbox. That too is new. Basically it's a complete copy of the game used for testing. Portions of it will be reset on a regular basis.

More to come.
