Canadian veterans visit Groningen As promised in a BBS posting here are some pics of the Canadian veterans who visited my hometown Groningen in the Netherlands to celebrate 60 years of liberation! These Canadians are members of the Candian 2nd Infantry Division who were involved in fierce fighting with German units during the last weeks of april 1945. Much of the centre of Groningen was destroyed during this fighting in which several dozens of Canadians were KIA. We are happy to invite the veterans every 5 years to celebrate with us the freedom they brought together with the brave American, British and Polish forces who were also involved in the Liberation of the Netherlands. Lest we forget!
